Adding 1.25GB of RAM to a Powerbook makes the battery life drop and this makes baby Jesus sad. However, Photoshop loads in about 2 seconds and Logic 7 in 15. Thats like butter.

Hope everyone is having a good day out in LJ land.

Gonna be making an appearence at the Ed and Op show tonite. Hopefully I will see some of you. :)

Off to lunch at Chipotle.

damm Sprint [29 Jun 2004|05:20pm]
The pin which you plug your charger into on my cell phone broke off, so thus I can't charge my phone right now unless I do some "rigging". I need to call Sprint to see if they have a slot charger for my phone or something. I have been planning to switch to tmobile but was waiting for Tmobile to get the Nokia 6820, but now my hands are tied. If you need to get ahold of me in the meantime, leave a voicemail and I will call back.

Late Memorial Day Weekend Recap [02 Jun 2004|12:00pm]
Thursday:
Ran by the studio in Arlington(Black Zone) to make measurements for redesigning the rooms. Set in on a session with Milad and Darius(boogieman) for Darius's album. I got some good footage of Darius acting a fool which brought back memories of old days long past. Made it out to Crave late because I-30 was completely shut down in Arlington. Got to Crave for the last nite of Livn Thursdays, got to see a really cute and talented house DJ(Amber ?) that the guys brought in. Turtle, Brad, and MARK PENA tagged for an hour her Final Scratch setup after 2 to close things out proper. Went over to Cafe Brazil with Dan[info]sin4me), and we ate by ourselves because everyone else bailed out.

Friday:
Long ass day at work. Jetted home and grabbed a few items to take out to the Homebar for Leaha and Curtis's show(burufunk). The one like Mark/Dappa was doing the sound and had everything setup proper for their gig. Mucho props as their sound check went really well. Went to eat at Ozona which is like down the street from the Homebar but its sad that after going to the Homebar for like 5+ years I never realized it was there. The turnout for the party kind of let alot to be desired, and even though I don't go out much lately I can tell it was not promoted well at all which really sucks but what can you do. They put on a good show and everyone that was there was duly impressed, but its hard to get a small crowd totally jumping. I could tell the breaks kids were eating it all up. I got some decent DV footage(on a side note I'm making an effort to film ALL the time now). I ran into an old coworker of mine who I had introduced Burufunk to and the last time i saw her was at their Lizard Lounge show last year. She asked me what one track was and it just so happened to be the last remix that they had completed which just reaffirmed in my opinion how bad ass they are. That being said everyone really needs to check out the Tiesto party at Liquid on June 17th. Even if you hate trance, it will be worth it to hear Burufunk on the VDOSC system.

Saturday:
Drove up to Oklahoma with my bro for my Cousin Kevins wedding. Got to my dads home town(Geary) and my uncles farm around 2:30. There was like 20 pounds of catfish and 4 smoked turkeys for a family get together. Shortly thereafter the skies started to darken and there is a tornado warning. Next thing I know I'm running to my car to get my DV cam so I can film the tornado that appears above my dads home town. All the little kids were told to go inside my uncles house which is safe because its literally built into a hill. Everyone else ran atop the hill to watch. I've never actually seen a tornado so that was cool, I'm hoping I got some good footage. As a result of the damage the power goes out. Power was not restored till the next morning which made getting ready for a wedding quite stressful for everyone.

Sunday:
Drove out to OKC and setup the laptop, cd players and dj mixer for the reception. The wedding was at this place called Coles Garden. Then we went to the hotel to check in. At our hotel that weekend there was a "Gay Rodeo Convention" sponsored by Bud Light of all things. My cousins best men both went to Harvard with him and are from up north, they found it funny that they came to the South and still saw such things. Anyways ... the wedding was that nite and it went really well. I am happy for my cousin because his new wife Steph rocks and is perfect for him.

Monday:
Got up and drove home. Went over to Elliot's for grilling and swimming in the pool. Was taunted into doing numerous shots and had a great time. Got to see Paul and Laurel([info]lau) and Luarel kicked my ass in Darkstalkers on Elliots MAME console. Good times.

Tuesday:
Back to work. Tried out new 20 inch monitors but they are made for HP workstations and did not like my computer. Gave me a headache. I wish I had my 21 Inch Trinitron here at work. Went home to Crazy ass storms, and my beloved Logic Pro and Macintosh.

hermitmode("exit","bobby"); [26 May 2004|05:25pm]
So today being my 24th year of exisitence, nows as good of time as any to exit out of my recent hermit mode(reasoning was typical Bobby fashion). Hi Live Journal people and good friends. To anyone that wondered if I had a pulse, I am sorry. Things are going good though.

Today was Razoo's for lunch with my coworkers. The cute waitress staff reminded me it is indeed summertime.

Tonite its PF Changs or Pacific House. mmmmmm.

Mac OSX [17 Feb 2004|01:13am]
It is both heaven and the spawn of hellions. Yes I got a mac and I love it. Logic 6 is the shizzle and Bias Peak is just a metrosexual Sound Forge with a decent GUI.

Yes I am a nerd.

It is 1am and where are all my peeps on this Monday nite? I am also busy with some design work ... need to reinstall Mx studio 2004 blizzah.

The weekend was nice. Saturday nite I ran by my friend Jeff's from works place then attempted to go to some dnb party in the Colony with Alana but we could not find the place. It was straight up 1997 shit ... like when you never knew where the party was and it was like 5 kids on who knows what trying to find FM 416 behind the railroad station that runs next to Little Bear Creek. Ya ... so thumbs down to maps.yahoo.com but it was fun nonetheless. Sunday I went to casa de Burufunk to chill with Leaha and Curtis. Good times as always.

im ready for miami, im ready to move ... ready for alot of big tings ya know ;)

[04 Dec 2003|03:37pm]
Long time no post ... post.

So I am having a really stressful week because to the subcontracters I manage from India and because my company is canceling our 401k program(long story that deserves its own post) and our CFO is being really shady about it all. We are talking ... when you get so flustered you cant concentrate on anything. Yea thats me today. I came home for a break, petted my dog and now I feel much better. Such a simple solution, but alas now I have to go back.

Last nite Milad turned 21. Finally ... hes like the last of the original #txraves crew to hit the 21. Which makes me feel old. When I first met him he was 14 and he had to sneak out of his house to play Live PA gigs. Its wierd now that hes 21, Milad will always be that super amazing talented 14 year old modern Mozart to me. I will always feel I have to look out for him because hes too nice for his own good, and he has so much musical and artistic talent in his head that he often forgets the simple things. I met up with him and his new gf(who I now approve of after meeting) at On the Border and then we went out to the Home Bar for the Hip Hop weekly out there. While there I got to wish Scott( [info]djquestion) Happy Birthday who shares the date with Milad.

Anyways ... I am glad to have friends like Milad. It makes life worthwhile to know someone will always be in it. So to all my friends out there in LJ world you rock.

More to come later :)

I update this thing? [12 Nov 2003|03:57pm]
Funny moment:
I message one of our subcontracters in India(don't even get me started on that subject) regarding a site they are working on for me. I had sent some spec changes in an email and so i was messaging him to make sure he understood.

bleek: did you get it?
345302975: yea
345302975: just going through it
bleek: Does you understand what I meant?

The funny thing is ... after I saw that I had typed it, I thought well that will probably make more sense to him than "Do you understand what I meant?" Which sounds bad ... but its true.

Last week my leg went number from what amounts to Carpal Tunnel syndrome in my leg. Sucks. That being said I only really get on the computer at work since sitting at a desk makes it worse. Which means I am behind of some of my freelance work and the new music I have been working on lies in waiting. I am almost better now but I still do not want to risk making it worst. This is reason #456 why I need a pimp new laptop. Been looking at this one: 17 inch widescreen drool.

I got a new pipe that matches my Focusrite ISA 430. I photoshoped the picture but isn't it oh so nice?

Anyways ... I was thinking ... its time to start planning for Winter Music Conference. So anyone out there that wants to join the Moon Magnet crew in being continuosly drunk in Miami in March let me know.

So who wants to kick my ass ... [30 Oct 2003|09:30am]
I missed LTJ Bukem last nite. I was kind of tired ... I went to sit in on a friend's Jujitsu Belt Test (an old Tae Kwon Do training partner of mine now teaches Jujitsu), which involved busting out my pimp Adidas uniform and my now "shorter" 2nd Dan black belt with engraving. Then we went and had Chinese. I decided I am going to start training in Jujitsu to get back in shape. Point of the story I was tired around 11 and decided I shouldn't drive out. Then I worked on a new DNB tune for a bit read a spec document on a HUGE contract job and pizzased out.

Macromedia announced its new "MX 2004" line of products last month, and now Adobe rallies with Adobe CS (Creative Suite) lsat week. Do either of them add any real cutting edge features ... of course not. Greedy bastards.
